GENESIS CONCERT RELEASE WHEN IN ROME 2007 THE DVD EXCLUSIVELY AT WAL-MART ON JUNE 10

The Criterion Collection, known for its excellent dvd editions to classic films from around the world have announced their first foray into high defintion media. The first releases will begin to hit store shelves in October. The editions will include high definition picture and sound and include all the extras of the original dvd editions in standard definition. Here's the intial listing of releases:
The sci-fi show that flopped the first time around but has received a cult-like following on video will be brought out on Blu-Ray in a deluxe package set from Fox. One of the stars recently commented that they had been contacted to contribute to the new DVD and Blu-Ray set. No release date has been announced or whether it will include the follow up Serenity, which was on HD-DVD.
Hannah Montana's sold-out concert with the Jonas Brothers ; (The Best Of Both Worlds) will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 19th with a 3-D option. This film recently was offered in IMAX 3-D theaters and will come complete with 4 pair of 3-D glasses. It will be very interesting to see how Disney handles the 3-D, as we know they have big plans for it in the future, re-releasing Toy Story and other popular titles in 3-D in 2009 and beyond.
It seems like every week we DVD collectors are bombarded with so-called special editions of damn-near every movie on the planet. But was anyone REALLY pining for a two-disc "Holy Schnike" Edition of "Tommy Boy"? I'll take your silence as a definitive no. I stayed up late watching "Babel" last night. This morning my wife asked how it was. I replied that she wouldn't enjoy it, but she also wouldn't be able to stop watching. It's a fascinating and emotionally harrowing film that feels like it's gonna spiral into despair and take you with it. Brilliantly shot, remarkably sequenced, original & extremely well-acted, "Babel" certainly deserves its Best Picture Oscar nomination, even it ain't always what you'd call a good time at the movies.
