Featured Review
Just looking at the title "Croc," you know what you're going to get. "Croc" is indeed yet another killer crocodile film, only this time the action takes place in a resort in Thailand. Of course, there's the obligatory subplot involving a hunter (played by Michael Madsen) who is out for revenge against the murderous crocodile. With "Lake Placid 1 and 2," the upcoming "Rogue," and now "Croc," there should be a ban on killer crocodile/alligator movies. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. "Croc" is no exception. There's the unoriginal storyline, scenes straight out of "Jaws," corny stock footage and F/X, and a talented B-movie star (Michael Madsen) who has no business being in this film. Seriously, why would Madsen take this role? Granted, he probably got a nice check, but he's a talented actor who is capable of great performances. See "Kill Bill Part 2" and "Reservoir Dogs" if you don't believe me. About the only thing "Croc" has going for it is some gorgeous location shooting and some fairly decent production values. That's certainly more than I can say for recent Genius Products killer animal films (I'm looking at you "Maneater"). "Croc" is presented in widescreen with a Dolby Digital Stereo track. The only extras include trailers for "Furnace," "Maneater," "Blood Monkey," and "In The Spider's Web."
