Disney announces Platinum Edition DVDs and Blu-Rays of Classic Titles

Disney logo Pinocchio, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, and Beauty and the Beast will all get the high definition treatment with the launch of Disney's BD-Live network. Each will be available for a limited time only, in new multi-disc sets featuring rarely seen footage and an array of new bonus features.

Disney’s BD-Live Network will be initially launched in the U.S. only, with the first Platinum Edition Blu-ray release, Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition, available on October 7, 2008.
Disney will also release the experimental collaboration film between Disney and Salvador Dali, Destino, for the first time.

Unfortunately, the wait for these will be a long one.

Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs-Fall 2009

Fantasia-Restored-2010

Fantasia 2000-2010

Destino-Disney's collaboration with Salvador Dali released for the first time-2010

Beauty and The Beast-Fall 2010
