Confidential) star with Martin Freeman (Hot Fuzz, Love Actually) in the romantic fantasy, The Good Night. The Good Night is Jake Paltrow’s feature film directorial debut and will arrive on DVD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on April 1, 2008 for an SLP of $24.96. The DVD includes an audio commentary from Jake Paltrow. Synopsis Gary Sheller’s (Martin Freeman) image of himself is deteriorating: his job is uninspiring and degrading and his relationship with his girlfriend Dora (Gwyneth Paltrow) is a constant struggle. Gary is depressed and dejected … until he meets Anna (Penelope Cruz). In Anna he finds a love, contentment and self-worth absent in his real life. Annais the girl of Gary’s dreams … literally. Gary can only see Anna in his dream life and consequently seeks a means to carry on the most satisfying relationship of his life. His quest for lucid dreaming techniques leads Gary to an eccentric post-beat era, new age idealist named Mel (Danny DeVito) who guides Gary through his complicated pursuits. As Gary shuns reality to dedicate himself to the security and comfort of his dreams, his waking life troubles worsen. Robin Williams fans rejoice! Here is a young Williams at his maniacal best. For you youngsters, Williams first starring vehicle was in this spin-off series from Happy Days, as Mork, an alien sent to Earth to observe our culture. He ends up in Boulder Colorado with Mindy, played by Pam Dawber, a modern girl, who is still moral in character and fascinated by the opportunity Mork provides. Dawber played a perrfect foil for Williams, innocent, smart and daring when she needed to be. The entire series was one in which Williams was given ample room to improvise in every episode and the results show just how clever this budding star could be in front of the camera.
