Christmas may be more than a month away, but it doesn't seem like it to this reviewer. For the past month or so, I have reviewed at least 10 Christmas DVDs with more coming in each this week. To say I am growing tired of Christmas discs is an understatement. Thankfully, my holiday spirit has been restored with the riotous "Christmas Time In South Park."

"Christmas Time In South Park" contains 7 episodes. They are as follows: 1. "Mr. Hankey The Christmas Poo"- The story: The kids are about to rehearse for a Christmas play until townspeople begin to object to its narrow minded perspective. The town agrees that a non-offensive/non-religious play needs to be performed. Meanwhile, Kyle is struggling to convince people that Mr. Hankey The Christmas Poo is real and not a figment of his imagination. While the story is positively raunchy, this episode contains a good-hearted and timely message about religious acceptance. The episode is also one of the funniest of this set. How can you not laugh at Cartman's song about Kyle's mom? 2. "Merry Christmas Charlie Manson" has Cartman and his friends visiting his family in Nebraska for Christmas. When Cartman's Uncle breaks out of jail with Charlie Manson and shows up at the house, all hell breaks loose. Will the children be safe or has Manson turned a new leaf? A series classic. 3. "Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics" is an episode that consists solely of 10 holiday songs. There's no story or plot here. Highlights include Cartman singing "O Holy Night" and the "Christmas In Hell" tune. 4. "A Very Crappy Christmas"- The story: As Mr. Hankey is busy spending time with his family, South Park suffers from a lack of Holiday spirit. Kyle and gang set out to spread the holiday cheer by creating an animated video (which is actually the unaired pilot episode of "South Park"). This is the weakest of the 7 episodes, but "The Lion King" "Circle Of Life" parody is priceless. 5. "Red Sleigh Down"- The story: An accountant tells Cartman that he has been too naughty to receive any presents from Santa. Vowing to get a hot new toy, Cartman sets out to do good by enlisting Santa's help to spread Christmas cheer to Iraq. "Red Sleigh Down" boasts some hilarious shot-by-shot "Black Hawk Down" spoofs and features the return of the underpants gnomes. The only downside of this ep is the unfunny subplot about Jimmy singing the "12 Days Of Christmas." 6. "It's Christmas In Canada" is a strange "Wizard Of Oz" like journey in which Kyle wanders the country in search of his brother Ike. Much like "South Park: Bigger, Longer, And Uncut" it's one long joke about mocking Canadians (and French Canadians). 7. "Woodland Critters Christmas" starts off as a cutesy animal story with Dr. Seuss style narration, but quickly becomes a deranged gruesome story. I wish I could say more, but the less said the better. Half of the fun is the unexpected turns the story takes.

When you watch "South Park," you aren't looking for amazing picture quality as the show's animation is fairly pedestrian and cheap looking. With that said, the fullscreen picture quality is slightly above average and never appears blurry or fuzzy. The Dolby Digital Stereo track is so-so. Sometimes it can be hard to hear what the characters are saying or singing, but that's mostly due to weak/rushed voice recordings.

If you own all 10 seasons of "South Park" on DVD, skip "Christmas Time In South Park" as the set contains 7 episodes from various seasons. If you enjoy "South Park" and want a fun collection of episodes then by all means purchase this set. You won't regret it.
