Review

Golf Magazine's Top 100 teachers of golf in America present the "More Series", which consists of More Power, More Consistency, and More Up and Downs cover almost all aspects of the game for golfers everywhere. Golf teachers include experts that tutor movie stars, pro athletes, and even golf pros.
Each disc is approximately 1 hour in length and are jammed packed with short lessons from the teachers. This can be played all together but also can be accessed individually with the remote. What is great is you can focus on the lessons you need help with and because the lessons are short, you can replay them again and again if needed. Need more power in your drive? Disc one covers all aspects to get you the distance you want. Disc two covers methodologies to improve your all round game by teaching you ways to become more consistent. Disc three covers pitching, sand shots, chipping, and putting. All the teachers have their own methods and some repeat information demonstrate the basics of golf game that all players can benefit from. The lessons were shot at The Kirkland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ, and Grand Cypress Golf Resort. Each lesson is prefaced by some background information about each teacher and their credentials are impressive. You have teachers of Golf Pro Peter Jacobson and also Clint Eastwood. These people are high class instructors.

Picture and Sound

The picture is sharp and clear and was shot with high quality equipment. Instructors address the camera as if speaking to you through the television and demonstrate their techniques through a variety of camera angles. The courses are beautiful and the weather is magnificent on the courses.

Extras

Besides the short video lessons, each disc contains several instant tips and extra features including the proper way to warm up, a behind the scenes featurette, and "About The Top 100 Teachers" feature. I found the warm up tips quite useful and you'll be watching this one again as it is quite extensive.

Summary

"Golf Magazine Top 100 Teachers In America :The More Series" is an all encompassing great DVD set for golfers, both beginners and amateurs everywhere. Chock full with many short golf lessons, this DVD set will make a great gift for the golfers you know. They will be going back to this set again and again to learn the many techniques demonstrated on these discs. Replay value is phonomenal and will be appreciated next spring when they break out their clubs for play.

Hide And Seek

I'm probably being generous giving "Hide and Seek" a B rating. It could be that I've sat through so many banal horror movies lately that I'm simply glad to watch one that's at least interesting most of the way through. Or it could be that Robert De Niro has starred in so many crappy movies in the past few years that this one shines in comparison (saying it's his best work since "Ronin" might be faint praise). Or maybe I was simply in the right mood for a by-the-numbers suspense thriller. "Hide and Seek" isn't a great movie (there's a strong argument to be made it isn't even a good one), but it's competently made and I had a pretty good time, even though the film falls apart in the third act. For it's DVD release, Fox has also thrown in some pretty good bonuses, including a unique way of presenting alternate endings.
