"Guyver” is an entertaining, fast-paced anime series.
The plot: Sho, an average high school teen, accidentally happens upon a Guyver 1 bio armor suit made by the Chronos Corporation. From there on out, Sho finds his life turned upside down as he must fight the evil Zoanoids who not only want the suit back, but want to take over the world as well. “Guyver” is based off the manga series of the same. Having viewed countless anime series that waste time and stretch out story arcs, I have to say that it was refreshing to watch “Guyver.” This 26 episode anime series wastes no time whatsoever. Guyver” has a clear, set story and it gets down to business right away in episode 1 as we see Sho discovering the Guyver 1 suit. Immediately after that, we are treated to a whirlwind of fast paced stories in which we are introduced to fascinating characters like Murakami, learn more about Chronos and the Zoanoids, and witness plenty of gruesome, bloody fights. This is definitely a violent, adult anime series that is not for kids. The best aspect of “Guyver,” however, has to be the characters. My personal favorite was the Sci-Fi geek Tetsuro (who is Sho’s good friend) because he really livens up the show. As for Sho, he too is a great character. I liked seeing how his character progressed and matured from a quiet teen to a hero. The writers did a commendable job in really fleshing out his journey by making it as believable as it can possibly be. The only real problem I had with “Guyver” is that it can be a bit repetitious at times. Still, that's a minor complaint as the show contains great characterization, moves quickly, takes risks and is never dull.
Picture and Sound
The widescreen picture looks quite good. The animation is sharp looking throughout. I was especially impressed by the clear blue skies.
The English Dolby Digital 5.1 and Japanese Stereo tracks are solid all around. The action, music, and voice recordings are as clear as can be.
Extras
* Episode 1 commetary with Charles Campbell, Rod Peters and Jack Glauser. A rather dull commentary track. The group mainly joke around and talk about what they like.
* Funimation trailers.
* Commentary on episode 13 by Lowell Bartholomee and Charles Campbell.
* Commentary on episode 23 with Chris Patton and Charles Campbell. The two really have nothing to offer as they are only involved in doing the English dub.
* Commentary on episode 26 Chris Patton, Charles Campbell and Lowell Bartholomee.
* Clean opening and closing animation.
* 10 minutes of production sketches.
* Manga to anime comparisons on all 26 episodes.

Or, the Nicholas Cage show. This black comedy was first released before Nicholas Cage went on to megastardom, when he was still mainly appreciated for quirky character roles in such unusual fare as "Raising Arizona" and "Wild at Heart". Like those pictures, "Vampire's Kiss" has achieved a bit of cult status, and will be forever remembered as the film where Cage, playing a womanizing literary agent who's convinced he's a vampire, eats a live cockroach. It is not, however, a horror film, though it has been sold as one. It's more of a character study, chronicling the life of a yuppy spinning wildly out of control. Though well made, is it doesn't work as on that level, either, as we really never discover much about him. "Vampire's Kiss" serves mainly as a vehicle for audiences to watch Cage become completely unglued (which he does very well).

Father to a murdered son. Husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next. Russell Crowe Gladiator
