Review
In this sequel Harold and Kumar are mistakenly named terrorists by an inept homeland security agent who thinks he’s on a mission from God to restore freedom to America. Harold and Kumar are played by John Cho and Kal Penn, Rob Corddry plays Ron Fox.
On their way to Amsterdam to chase down a girl and through a series of misunderstandings, paranoid white people wrongfully accuse Harold & Kumar of being terrorists. Their flight is diverted to Guantanamo Bay and the frightened buddies get to see what the Cuban detention center is really like. Little time is actually spent at Guantanamo, one thinks the writers might have painted themselves into a corner by coming up with a name for the movie before sitting down to actually write it. I’d like to hear how that pitch to the executives at Warner Bros. went: “I know what the title of the next Harold and Kumar movie is guys, Escape from Guantanamo Bay.” “You idiot, we’ve already set up the next adventure at the end of the first movie. They’re going to Amsterdam.” “Oh right, well, let’s have them get arrested under suspicion of being terrorists and… you know, this stuff pretty much writes itself.” Exchanging the less complex plot device from the first movie (the stoners get the munchies) and replacing it with a storyline that is much more ludicrous, this second addition is less amusing and less funny. With how ridiculously easy they are able to break out of prison, I thought for sure this was heading in the direction of a spoof on fugitives-on-the-run movies. That might have been a lot funnier and more original. That’s not to say that two weed smoking buddies on the lamb from the feds who have been incorrectly labeled as threats to national security isn’t original, but it was funnier when it was called Beavis and Butthead Do America.
Finally back in the states but dogged at every turn by Corddry’s clueless homeland security agent, H & K make their way from Miami to Texas, where an old flame of Kumar’s is about to tie the knot to a seemingly flawless politically savvy dream boat. Hoping he can pull a few strings to get the two bickering friends out of trouble, the dynamic duo seek his help. Along the way they make friends with the Klu Klux Klan, some backwoods in breeders and Neil Patrick Harris, once again playing himself. I would have rather seen this movie as a spoof than as a standard stoner comedy. The plot made itself available as an easy target for that type of movie. In an age where spoof is being redefined as a pop culture mesh of celebrity tabloid news, and references from 20 or so different movies where the jokes aren’t even attempting to be subtle. Anyways, don’t get me started. Bottom line: skip it. Me personally, I’m holding out for a third installment where H & K run for president. Actually, that doesn’t sound so bad.
Picture and Sound
The sound is OK, the picture is a little grainy and doesn't look all that good on certain slow motion scenes.
Extras
Commentary by the directors and the stars,
commentary by the directors, the real "Harold Lee" and the actor who plays the president,
"The World of Harold & Kumar" featurette,
27 additional scenes and a fake PSA.
The first commentary track is by the numbers, no extraordinary insight, it's like I always say: "deleted scenes were deleted for a reason."

Featured Review
"The Fallen Ones" is another made-for-TV horror opus which first premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel a few months ago. Most of Sci-Fi's original programming is derivative, low-budget CGI junk featuring either Dean Cain or Casper Van Dien as the hero, and this one is no exception. Still, as totally disposable entertainment, you could do a lot worse.
