The “Dragonball Z- Broly Double Feature” is for completeists only.
The plots: The first film (“Broly- The Legendary Super Saiyan”) finds Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, and an older Trunks facing off against a Super Saiyan who is tearing up the galaxy. Who is this Saiyan? Are his actions being controlled? Can he be stopped? “Broly- The Second Coming,” which takes place 7 years after the first film, is a much more light hearted story in which Goten, Videl, Kid Trunks and an older Gohan must battle the newly resurrected Broly. Even as a fan of “Dragonball Z,” I can honestly say these two films are not worth your time. Sure, “Broly- The Legendary Super Saiyan” contains some epic fight scenes, but that’s all the feature really has going on for it. The plot and characterization are super thin and it gets tiring seeing Broly beat down every character over and over again. “The Second Coming” is an even worse story. All Goten and Kid Trunks do is whine and goof around the entire time. They don’t seem to take anything seriously, and their so-called humorous bits were flat out awful, especially when Kid Trunks urinated on Broly. After awhile, I really just wanted Broly to die already so the movie would end.
Picture and Sound
Compared to the Trunks/Bardock Blu-ray disc I reviewed, the widescreen 1080P picture quality on this disc is 10 times cleaner and sharper. A job well done Funimation.
The 5.1 Dolby surround track and the Japanese/English Stereo tracks all contain perfectly audible dialogue and action, but they could have been stronger overall.
Extras
* “Dragonball Z: A New Look” is a 3 minute feature on the remastered picture and audio.
* A 2 minute ad for the “Dragonball Z” season sets.

M. Night Shyamalan's second major release gets the high definition treatment with excellent results. While first being advertised as a thriller, this slow moving, character rich drama is beautifully rendered on Blu-Ray. Bruce Willis plays David Dunn, a shy, slightly depressed, security guard, who becomes the sole, untouched survivor of a train wreck. His family (Robin Wright Penn and Spencer Treat Clark) are struggling to keep it together. When Willis starts to receive messages frrom a mysterious comic book art collector (Samuel L. Jackson) Willis begins to realize that he is not ordinary. Jackson helps him to become aware that he has never been sick, and has never, ever been hurt. His boy also becomes excited at this possibility.
