Review
This excellent film has already been carefully evaluated by Nick Lyons in his "Juno" review and after viewing the Blu-Ray version, I really can't add much as far as the film goes. Instead I'll quote Nick's review as follows:
"Juno" is an utterly delightful and touching comedy masterwork. The story: A sarcastic and witty teen girl named Juno finds herself pregnant after a night of chair loving with her “boyfriend” Pauly Bleeker. Instead of getting an abortion or keeping the child, Juno decides to become a surrogate mother to a wealthy couple. To say that I loved every second of “Juno” would be selling it short. “Juno” is a quirky, oddball coming of age story about a young girl who is trying to find herself while also learning a few life lessons along the way. Unlike some movies with similar plots, the story is not at all preachy or biased. Instead, newcomer screenwriter Diablo Cody makes the material seem fresh and new as she sprinkles the script with quick witted dialogue, charming characters, and above all a touching story at the core. As great as the screenplay is, it’s the ensemble cast that makes “Juno” work. After her chilling performance in “Hard Candy” Ellen Page strikes gold again here with a performance that she should have received a Best Actress statue for. The rest of the cast is equally worthy of praise. “Superbad’s” Michael Cera, J.K. Simmons, Allison Janney, Jason Bateman, and Jennifer Garner (at her career best thus far) all hold their own and manage to bring these wonderful characters to life. Last, but not least, I have to give props to the wonderful soundtrack that boasts artists like Moldy Peaches and Sonic Youth. Picture and Sound-Another suberb Fox high defintion disc to savor over-The disc is 1080p MPEG-4 AVC and detail and colors wil not disappoint. Colors and contrast will shift with the mood of the film scenes, which is another great thing about the film. Bright and cheery moods have a bright and colorful appearance and when she's down, the picture becomes darker and less contrasty. Sound is also first rate with DTS-HD MA and Dolby digital 5.1choices. While this is not a really dynamic soundtrack, it fits for the film and enhances the musical choices for the soundtrack. Extras are all available on the standard dvd and are in 480. They include: * Gag Take (1:56), a music video like extra titled "Cast and Crew Jam" (3:12), screen tests (23:12), and a featurette on the director titled "Jason Reitman For Shizz." * Deleted scenes (20:20) with optional commentary from Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody. Most of these scenes are extended clips that don't add much. Notable scenes include Juno playing a gig and a follow-up on Mark. * My personal favorite extra a 5 minute gag reel with some truly gut-busting remarks from Jason Bateman. * "Honest To Blog! Creating Juno" is a 13 minute featurette with Reitman, Cody and others chatting about the film. * "Diablo Cody Is Totally Boss" is an 8 1/2 minute featurette about the screenwriter's fascinating life and how the script came to fruition. * "Way Beyond Our Maturity Level" (9:00)- A featurette on the characters of Juno, Leah and Bleeker. * Commentary by Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody. A great track with plenty of humorous jokes being cracked as well as plenty of fun facts about background items. Summary-"Juno" is a wonderful film for tweeners and up. Ellen Page is a real talent who you will certainly find at the Oscars again with good film choices. This Blu-Ray version delivers but Fox still needs to up the ante a bit and provide more exclusive extras.

David Lean's last film is also Sony's launch of their "Classic" series on Blu-Ray. It is a good disc to premier the series as it brings together beautiful cinematography, a mysterious storyline, and great performances from the entire cast. The story is adapted from E.M. Forster's novel, also a classic. Lean tried to be as faithful to the novel as possible, with few exceptions.
