“Korn Live At Montreux 2004” is strictly for fans of the band or fans of hard rock/nu metal.
Let me start out by saying that the band Korn is not for everyone. The music, which can be described as a mixture of hard rock and nu metal, may sound like mere noise to some or musical bliss to others. However you may feel about the band, there’s no denying that Korn created their own unique sound which has undoubtedly inspired countless inferior bands. Moving on to the concert, the band certainly does not disappoint with their setlist. Korn plays nearly every hit in their catalogue including “Right Now,” “A.D.I.D.A.S,” “Got The Life,” and “Freak On A Leash.” While some of their tunes like “Falling Away From Me,” the cover of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall,” “Shoots And Ladders” (which has Davis playing bagpipe) and the finale (“Y’all Want A Single”) are musical delights, a few of their numbers (namely “Break Some Off” and “Dead Bodies Everywhere”) sounded downright unpleasant as singer Jonathan Davis’s vocals get lost amongst the music. Of course, one of the problems with hard rock/metal concerts in general is that the singer’s vocals are not as clear as they should be because the accompanying music is too loud. That is why, to me at least, bands of this genre always sound better in the studio. I was also disappointed with the lack of crowd interaction. Yes, the singer encourages fans to sing along to songs and the band does throws picks and goodies to the fans after the show, but so what? Davis only manages to say a couple sentences to the crowd throughout the entire show. Setlist: Right Now Break Some Off Got The Life Here To Stay Falling Away From Me Blind Shoots And Ladders One Freak On A Leash A.D.I.D.A.S Dead Bodies Everywhere Did My Time Another Brick In The Wall F***T Somebody Someone Y’all Want A Single
Picture and Sound
The 1.78:1 10800 picture certainly gives the viewer the sensation that they are at an actual concert. From the up close and personal shots of the band to the dazzling lights, the picture quality is top notch.
There’s something for everyone when it comes to the audio tracks. Viewers can choose from Dolby TrueHD 5.1, DTS HD Lossless, and LCPM Stereo. All of these tracks are solid, but I will say that singer Jonathan Davis’s vocals can be hard to hear at times.

Featured Review
Since "Elizabeth" grabbed 7 Academy Award nominations, many reporters and film buffs were speculating that "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" would follow in its footsteps. However, when the sequel premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, the film was not greeted well by critics and audiences alike. Having now seen the film myself, it's not hard to see why.
