Nicholas Cage, Diane Kruger, Jon Voight, Harvey Keitel, and Justin Bartha from National Treasure return with new cast members Ed Harris, Bruce Greenwood, and Helen Mirren for this over the top sequel. Cage plays historical artifact collector and puzzle expert Ben Gates as he deals with Harris, who reveals a secret page from the Diary of John WIlkes Booth, stating Gates's ancestor played a major role in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Turns out Harris has a different agenda, finding a lost city of gold and baits Gates to find it. Its up to Gates and his pals, this time including his father (Jon Voight) and mother (Helen Mirren) to stop Harris from the smearing of their family name and beat Harris to the treasure.

While this second movie is over the top in believability, take it for what it is worth and have fun with this sequel. The additional cast members keep the relationships fresh but relationship outcomes are predictable.

Picture and sound are up to the usual high standards Disney has set for its Blu-Ray releases with 1080p picture and Dolby True HD sound. This disc is perfect for showing off a system.

Extras include the same included in the double disc standard dvd set plus two Blu-Ray exclusives: a feature on comparing the film's facts with reality, and some deleted scenes. These are presented in 1080p. Other extras are predictable but are plentiful. Commentary from director Jon Turtletaub and Jon Voight, features on several locations, making the sequel, designing the book, bloopers and gag reel, stunts, and inside the Library of Congress. Its a lot of bang for the buck.
