The logline: An FBI agent goes undercover as a surfer in order to find the surf loving band of robbers known as the ex-presidents.

“Point Break” is simply a dumb 90’s action film. Sure, the film boasts a few memorable action/skydiving sequences and a fun performance by an over the top Gary Busey, but other than that, there is not much to admire here as the script is disastrous. In addition to containing lines like “You gotta go down!” and “I am a FBI agent!”, the movie contains laughably bad philosophical moments and plenty of brainless macho action. Of course, the script is made even worse by Keanu “Robot” Reeves. Granted, he perfectly fits the role of a surfer, but his wooden line deliveries and lack of chemistry with other cast members makes his performance painful to watch. Patrick Swayze is decent here, but he seems to take the role WAY too seriously.

On a side note, viewers should be on the lookout for small roles by Tom Sizemore and Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis.
