The plot: Tom, Marilyn and Jared go on a road trip to find Tom’s missing brother Jesse and his girlfriend Nicole (who were featured in the first film). Along the way, they encounter a crazed driver who wants to kill them (naturally). There are also crucial subplots regarding ghosts and a RV that contains a deformed dwarf, a psycho priest, a sex addicted mother and her two creepy sons (don’t ask).

As with most modern horror, “Rest Stop- Don’t Look Back” is simply not scary. It’s a typically unoriginal horror sequel that solely relies on torture porn like violence instead of focusing on plot or characters. Speaking of the plot, the sloppy script is literally all over the place. One moment we see a revolting porter potty sequence and in the next we see Jared having sexual relations with a ghostly corpse. The film is very jumbled like that and it never comes together in a clear and concise way.

One of the other major problems I had with this film is that the villain/monster/killer of the series is simply not at all interesting. He comes off as a Rusty Nail (from “Joy Ride”) wannabe only he doesn’t talk.
