The logline: A college campus becomes terrorized by a killer who is re-creating famous urban legends. Who is responsible for the murders and can they be stopped?

“Urban Legend” was one of many late 90’s slashers that were trying to capitalize on the success of “Scream” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” and it’s not a bad one by any means. Granted, ‘Legend’ feels dated and tired nowadays and has a ridiculous plot device involving people owning the same parka, but there are plenty of fun moments for horror fans. For instance, there are cameos by horror icons like Brad Dourif, Wes Craven and Danielle Harris and the film boasts a decent cast of would be stars like Jared Leto, Tara Reid, Michael Rosenbaum and Joshua Jackson.

Going back to the script, I wished the writers would have included more elaborate and scarier urban legends. Not only would it have made the film more enjoyable to watch, but it would have been far more suspenseful. The legends used in the film aren’t all that interesting and they seem more like a gimmick than anything else.
