"ZZ Top Live From Texas" is everything you think it will be: three Texas boys who have been cranking out three chord songs since the 70s in their home state doing what they do best;playing their finest hits in front of an adoring crowd. ZZ Top's unique sound is at its finest in the two hour set and all the famliiar hits are done well. Here's the line up:

The last half of the concert is where the guys really start to cook and bring out the fuzzy guitars for a couple of numbers.

The blu-ray picture is sharp and clear; camera work is busy but not to the point of distraction. At times you can see every hair on Billy Gibbons beard in close-ups. The concert has a high definition video source and for lots of the concert you are on stage with the band. It's a well engineered event in both sight and sound. Soundtrack sources include stereo (default) Dolby 5.1 and DTS HD MA lossless. You'll be able to crank this disc up on a good system and really experience the sound of these guys.

Extras include excerpts from a poker game backstage where band members recall the history of the band including their first recording session, meeting Jimi Hendrix and his influence, growing the beards, and various stories from the road.

You also get a 10 minutes mini documentary of setting up for this concert in Dallas, and a photo session.

All ZZ Top fans will enjoy this terrific two hour concert with the boys and is even better on blu-ray with a lossless soundtrack that will blow you away. Highly recommended. Released on June 24th.
