I was really looking forward to see what Disney, who produces technically superior DVDs could do with the 3 D format, since this film was such a hit in theaters. I have to admit the DVD 3D experience was a let down. While I didn't expect Disney to reinvent 3D, I was hoping for a tighter picture quality with the blue-red glasses. Unfortunately, as I write this review, my eyes are still a bit blurry and my head aches. Using the older red-blue glasses just doesn't cut it on DVD. The most effective use I've seen so far with this older technology was on a Medium episode where you only wore the glasses for brief periods of time in flashback sequences. Luckily, Disney includes a 2 D version of the concert on a separate disc.
The concert itself is what you'd expect from Disney; squeaky clean band members, a bevy of backup singers and dancers and of course, the energenic 15 year old Cyrus, who puts out positive images for her pre-teen girl fans. The 85 minute concert includes all her Hannah Montana hits and also promotes Miley's first non Montana recording. The first half of the concert is Hannah, complete with blonde wig and many costume changes. Then the popular Jonas Brothers (with the same age group)take over for a couple of numbers while Miley prepares for the second half of the concert as herself. There is no denying the fact that the girl is talented; her vocals and song writing abilities are already quite evident in this concert. Backstage antics are also included and before concert rehearsals start up the DVD after the first number. This extended DVD incudes a couple songs not shown in the 3D theater film, along with a backstage tour and a sing-a-long feature.
Songs is very good for a concert with Dolby 5.1. Hannah's music is slickly produced and sounded great, even with all the screams from the audience.4 pair of 3D glasses are included and the cover is lenticular .
This DVD does not sell 3D for me; whenever I got used to the effect, a singer or band member would be out of focus and I found myself straining to get my brain to adapt to the picture. It is a good concert for your pre-teen girl however; just be thankful they included the 2 D version.

Did you ever wonder what never mind the bullocks meant? I always did. Johnny Rotten explained it in his own vivid way what it all meant while being interviewed for this DVD. It means forget all the superficial bull, get to the important aspects of the subject and cut it to the chase. Well, the Sex Pistols had a style that lent itself to this attitude or thought process if you will, kind of like a straight up shot of whiskey with no chaser. It garnered them a lot of attention, mostly negative unfortunately. Because of the misinterpretations that the press held of who they were and what they were all about, they did not last that long as band, and there were other circumstances that contributed to their demise as well. "Never Mind The Bullocks Here?s The Sex Pistols" is part of the Classic Albums DVD series from Eagle Vision. An inside look at this legendary band is the focus of this in depth behind the scenes presentation of the UK bad boys. The unique offerings of this format invite the music fan to witness how each song came to life. The band members break down each track chord by chord on guitar (acoustic and electric). The producer behind the control knobs also gives you a rare opportunity to watch how each part of a song sounds all by itself, then subsequently adds each instrument piece by piece, giving you a previously unavailable view of how a song was built from the ground up. I found it remarkable that the band did not consider their music to be punk rock; they preferred to refer to it as good rock music, which it was. They are widely considered as the pioneer?s of punk rock and they will always remain the reigning kings of a revolution in music. Whether they agree or not to the lofty title of pioneers, the term will always be part of identifying their place in history. Never referred to as the consummate musicians, not by any stretch of the imagination, their legacy continues to grow. They were self-taught musicians, which I feel makes their success that much more incredible and almost dreamlike in comparison to other bands of their day. Johnny Rotten thought their music was a riot, the establishment however felt they were the ultimate non-conformists thumbing their noses right in the face of society and the Queen. In effect, they were all of that and their audience loved them for it. The more negative attention they received the more their popularity gained momentum. This is the typical status quo versus the hippies and punks scenario that in the end always seems to work against the finger pointers, that being the press and politicians. The suits may have won the battle but the band won the war, as their music lives on and continues to influence budding musicians around the world. Ain?t rock ?n? roll a beautiful thing? Bloody hell! The Sex Pistols rocked a nation and sold records against all odds. This is their story, and one that should be told by the band that made it all happen. Its all here, uncut with attitude and nothing held back. ?"Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck January 19, 2003
