Review

"Sinatra At The Movies" is a solid collection of songs.


“Sinatra At The Movies” is a 20 song collection of tunes Frank Sinatra sang for various Hollywood cinematic classics such as “Pal Joey,” “Young At Heart,” and the Oscar winning “From Here To Eternity.”

There’s no denying that this CD is gold. Nearly every Ol’ Blue Eyes song here is one everyone knows by heart. Who doesn’t love “The Lady Is The Tramp,” the finger snapping music of “I Love Paris,” and the big band sound of “Chicago?” Yes, there are a few bad apples here such as the annoying “Monique” and the corny “C’est Magnifique,” but that’s beside the point. I do have one major issue with this album though, which is that I find this particular album rather pointless as each song has literally been repackaged on separate discs between 15 and 20 times. It’s getting flat out ridiculous! How much can a studio profit off the same songs? At least try digging into the archives and find some cuts or concerts that haven’t been released. It’s time to give the fans something new.
