Review

     The great thing about a season finale is setting up all these problems and essentially knocking out a bunch of cliffhangers that force the audience to come back after the summer break. When the long running WB series returned for a sixth season, it had its hands full. Not only did it spend every episode dealing with what’s happened so far, it also set up storylines and more conflicts for every character we’ve come to love, and introducing new characters along the way.

     The parents (Stephen Collins & Catherine Hicks) have a great little talk at the end of the season opener where they have a pointer scene. The pointer scene being Eric and Annie pointing out where everyone is in their life and where they’re going to be. As the parents it’s their job to see that their children do the right thing. They don’t tell us how they’re going to accomplish their mission, they just tell us that it’s going to be a lot of fun addressing these issues as they come up; puberty, job searching, rebellious teenagers and “newlyweds.” 7th Heaven’s sixth season is essentially what it has been the past five seasons, but still keeping it fresh and real and relevant to a growing and maturing audience.

There are no special features.  Picture and sound are just all right.
