“Adventures Of The Galaxy Rangers Volume 1” contains the first 32 episodes of the series. The premise revolves around two aliens coming to Earth to seek help in stopping the evil Queen Of The Crown. Earth organizes a division dubbed the Rangers who help those in need and stop alien threats. In exchange for the humans help, the aliens grant them humans the technology for hyper-drive capabilities.

‘Galaxy Rangers’ is a prime example of how not to make an animated series. There is literally very little to admire here. The voice acting is lifeless, the 80’s rock music is out of place, the pacing is horrendous, the characters are one dimensional, the animation is shoddy, the characters movements are wooden, and worst of all the show is nothing more than a rip-off of other sci-fi films and programs. There are literally tons of elements lifted off of classics like “Star Trek,” “The Day The Earth Stood Still,” James Bond films, etc.

There are a few bright spots. The alien, universe, and ship designs are actually fairly well realized. Clearly a lot more work went into drawing and animating the show then writing the show.

The fullscreen picture quality is very poor. The prints are grainy and in poor shape. The Dolby Digital audio track is decent enough though.
