As Paramount further cashes in on the distressing success of the recent big-screen version of Alvin & The Chipmunks, along comes this box set of three holiday themed DVDs featuring, well, holiday themed episodes of the cartoon show's '80s revival (Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween, for those of you playing at home).

As with the other DVD editions of this show that have been released thus far, it is apparent that either Paramount did not have good source material to work with or they simply didn't care, as the picture quality on all of these discs is almost unbearable to watch. The faded nauseating colors bring up a few too many memories of my '80s childhood, not all of them pleasant. 

There's a kitsch value in these episodes, especially in the form of the insanely catchy theme song - and if you're a fan, this is pure heaven - but beyond that, there's very little else to recommend this set.
