Review

"And Baby Makes Two" is a documentary that follows a select group of middle-aged women (Jan, Debbie, Lori, April, and others) whom are eager to take their lives to a new level by becoming pregnant via artificial insemination or adopting a child. This documentary gives an insightful and honest look at the life-changing joys of having a child, as well as the various responsibilities and complications that can arise in the process. The disc contains a few deleted scenes as well as an extra titled 10 Years Later which is a follow up on the women and their children.

The New World - The Extended Cut

"The New World" is a film you will either love or hate.  Fans of director Terrence Malick will love the lavish, poetic visuals of this extended version of the story of John Smith and Pocahontas, in its almost three hour presentation.  Colin Farrell, Christian Bale, Christopher Plummer and new comer Q'orianka Kilcher star in this retelling of the first English colony in America, Jamestown  and the colonists relationship with the native Americans, whose land they took.  The slow moving story has Smith (Farrell) a rogue who is almost hanged at the beginning of the film, as the evolved leader of the colony after he goes and lives with the natives and has a relationship with the teen Pocahontas.  Christian Bale arrives late in the film and eventually wins the teen's heart.  In between, Malick paints a film with lots of quiet, dreamlike scenes of the Virginia wilderness and a simple portrait of how natives lived before the coming of the white man.
