The logline: Bad-ass agent Neil Shaw is back in a sequel filled with betrayal (obviously), the death of a friend, corruption, shady Senators, and even a good old fashioned framed for murder subplot. How does this all fit together? That would be telling.

Sometimes I have to wonder what goes on in the mind of studio executives. Do they look at past releases and randomly choose what gets a sequel? That seems to be the only logical explanation as I doubt anyone was clamoring for an “Art Of War” sequel, but alas we get one (and a bad one at that). This sequel is a flat-out embarrassingly amateurish and ineptly made film that contains horrendous editing and direction. Virtually everything in the film made me cringe, especially the flashback integration, the clumsy/jerky fights and shootouts, the extraneous shots, and the use of slow motion.

As for star Wesley Snipes, he just seemed to be going through the motions here. He never once seemed enthusiastic about anything, and mostly had blank/cold expressions on his face during his scenes.

In conclusion, I would recommend skipping “Art Of War 2.” If you’re in the mood for an action movie starring Wesley Snipes, watch “Blade” instead.

The 2.35:1 widescreen picture quality was clean looking and the Dolby Digital 5.1 was decent, albeit tame. The action could have sounded much stronger.
