Review

Richard Gere stars as a self-absorbed college professor who becomes a bit obsessed when his daughter's natural talents emerge during a regional spelling bee, which begins to alienate his son and psychologically troubled wife. "Bee Season" is a deliberately-paced-but-rewarding look at a dysfunctional family forced to come to terms with their problems, featuring terrific performances all around. Flora Cross is especially good as sixth-grade spelling prodigy Eliza. From Fox Home Entertainment.
