I can't knock "Ben 10" for not being a creative take on the superhero genre, but I can't whole heartedly recommend the show either as the stories are stale. If you really want to see an excellent animated kid show, please check out "Avatar-The Last Airbender."

After watching "Ben 10," I had to ask myself "what the heck did I just watch?" Like many animated kids shows these days, 'Ben' is an oddball hyperactive sci-fi kid show complete with everything from senior citizens engaging in kung-fu to robot baseball players. As if the show weren't strange enough, the hero (Ben Tennyson) has a device named the Omnitrix that gives him the ability to transform into a variety of alien creatures which gives him great advantage in a fight or an escape. For example, Ben transforms into a tiny creature called Grey Matter in order to get into EXTREMELY hard to reach areas without being detected.

As unique as the show's premise is, however, the season's 13 episodes are all sadly filled with tired and formulaic stories dealing with such ideas as a hypnotist and being transported into a video game. There isn't a single original villain or plot to be found here, which is a real shame.
