“Blood+” is another uninspired anime series.
The story: A seemingly normal school girl named Saya is actually an assassin who has been assigned to fight the evil, blood-thirsty shape shifting creatures known as the Chiropterans. In episodes 6-10, we see very little action (save for episode 6) and instead see how the loss of Saya’s father affects her and her two brothers. Even though I did not see volume 1, I am confident in saying that Blood+ is another uninspired anime series with a young butt-kicking girl as the main character. In addition to lacking creativity, the show’s “dramatic” moments aren’t the least bit effective. Not once did I care about anything that was happening on screen, especially since there was no real forward movement in the episodes. Aside from Saya’s father’s death, the episodes are quite uneventful, unless you can count the phantom appearing at a boarding school (don’t ask). Skip this series. The 1.33:1 fullscreen picture is quite sharp looking. The animation here looks better than most anime or animated series discs I have seen. Viewers can watch the show with an English dubbed Dolby Digital Stereo track or in its original Japanese language with subtitles. Both tracks are not particularly strong as the sound f/x, dialogue, and score could have been more powerful. No extras have been included.

Most adults I know find The Disney Channel's made-for-TV movies unbearable to sit through, and that's perfectly understandable. They weren't made for you, just like old Disney chestnuts like "Freaky Friday" & "Escape From Witch Mountain" weren't made for your parents. But only now, you don't have to pay to see these things in theaters. Being an adult, I found watching the latest Disney Channel musical, "Cheetah Girls 2" with Natalie (my 11-year-old daughter), gave me better insight of the overall worth of this disc than if I were to see it alone. She's a big movie fan, as well as a Cheetah Girls fan, so her input was quite valuable. Overall, Natalie thought the movie was okay, but not as good as the first (as is the case with most sequels), though she said the songs were great. From my perspective...no, I didn't personally enjoy the film all that much, but it's far from the worst kid's movie I've ever seen; I've carted my daughters to theaters to see movies far worse than this one. That said, if you have pre-teen daughters, it's probably worth picking up. From Buena Vista.
