So every now and then you need to take a step back from your preconceived notions of likes and dislikes to examine something new. My opinion of Mr. Mencia has only been based on the commercials for his television show on Comedy Central. I should not jump to any sort of conclusions without properly consulting evidence.

It turns out I was right. I still hate Carlos Mencia. Hearing his voice alone makes my bowels clench. For those of you who are looking for watered down jokes in the tradition of Richard Pryor and Chris Rock, look no further. If you are a fan of this guy (and I swear to God there is no judgement here), you will probably be very happy with "Performance Enhanced." You should purchase the DVD so your children and your grandchildren will be able to dig it just as much as you. 

Extras-wise, this doesn't have too much to offer. Check out Carlos Mencia's abode in MTV's "Cribs." There's some "Mind of Mencia" stuff, some Comedy Central quick bits and random DVD previews. 

But hey, this dude has a whole lot more money than I do, so he probably knows what he's doing.
