The story: After a few servants force themselves upon a beautiful married rich woman named Cecilia, she feels the desire to explore her sexuality by engaging in activities like a threesome, an orgy, a strip show, skinny dipping, etc. At first, her husband goes along with this until Cecilia's sexcapades spiral out of control. Can their marriage be saved or will it end?

Unlike the erotic thriller "Eugenie De Sade," Cecilia does not have much of a plot and plays more like a pornographic film about a woman experimenting with sex. As if that weren't enough, Jess Franco's direction is positively amateurish and overly arty. The excessive amount of close-ups, sex scenes, make-out sessions, long shots, and blatant symbolic dreamlike shots of nature are enough to make anyone roll their eyes. If Franco wanted to make a film with a porno like plot, why didn't he just work for the adult industry?

The 1.66:1 widescreen picture quality was sadly not in pristine shape. The picture was very grainy and I noticed a lot of scratches.

The Dolby Digital Mono track shows its age as it was not as sharp as most tracks. Viewers have the option of playing the film with an English dub or in French with English subtitles.

Extras include a theatrical trailer and a 17 minute interview with director Jess Franco talking about alternate titles, the cast, location shooting (and the history of the locations), etc.
