Review

"Chuck" is an unusual television series that combines hugh tech gadgetry, action sequences, a beautiful blonde, and a major nerd that makes for a highly entertaining show.

Zach Levi is "Chuck", who works at the fictional BuyMore store and downloads an email from his old college roommate who is now a CIA agent.  The email contains top secret info on just about any top government conspiracy you can imagine and it gets implanted into Chuck's brain.  Enter the CIA (the beautiful Yvonne Strahovski) and the NSA (Adam Baldwin) to keep watch over Chuck and use him on occasion to solve missions for the government because of the info inside his head.  If this were the entire series scenario, I don't think the series would be coming back for a second season but the cast and writing for "Chuck" is worthy a look and the show has developed a huge fan base because of the series progression through the episodes, making this a good buy for a television dvd set..  Instead of formulating the series, the writers have developed a lot of the characters on the show, so as the series progresses, things get a bit more complicated.
The 4 disc set comes with all 13 episodes from the short, writers strike season plus the usual amount of extras that include a gag reel, a point/counterpoint type beween series creators Josh Schwartz (The O.C.) and McG and cast, web mini features, and character development sessions.

"Chuck"survived the short, strike laden season one and came through with renewal, which shows you how strong a following it has.  Fans of the show are looking forward to owning this dvd set and to watching Season Two in September.
