Review

This compilation disc puts together a variety of takes on the presidency and legacy of George W Bush, sticking together episodes of South Park, Lil' Bush, Lewis Black's Root of All Evil and others.

As you can imagine with a disc like this, the quality of the comedy varies from show to show and from clip to clip. There are some genius bits such as Patton Oswalt and Greg Giraldo debating who is more evil, Paris Hilton or Dick Cheney, and some not so great bits (CC's misguided animated series that portrays the administration as children).

What this is a reminder of is the unfortunate demise of one of the funniest pieces of political satire that Trey Parker and Matt Stone – the creators of South Park – came up with: That's My Bush! The two managed to brilliantly send up the often pathetic and reaching efforts of the traditional sitcom and come up with some biting commentary on our outgoing administration.

To that end, this is a fine gift for the Bush-hating members of your family but for yourselves, I would recommend grabbing the DVD set of the only season of That's  My Bush!

Robert Stack stars as Eliot Ness in this early 60's series, "The Untouchables", about a squad of men in the Treasury Department fighting crime in corrupt 1920's Chicago and throughout the nation. The stories take great liberties with the actual cases Ness was involved in but this series is a true classic. Filmed in stark black and white and narrated by Walter Winchell, each episode tells a story of someone involved in crime, both big and small. Sometimes the series would focus on a small time hood or an innocent caught up in the corruption of the era or  the big criminals; Legs Diamond, Frank Nitti (played by Bruce Gordon) and of course, Al Capone, here played by Neville Brand in a two part episode, involving shipping Big Al off the Alcatraz.
