Review

"CSI:Miami", in its sixth season breaks away from the formulated CSI format and really starts to get the audience to better know its stars.  Of course, crimes are still solved but the subplots for the season involve the characters and their individual lives.  To start with, star David Caruso as Horatio Caine finds out he has a son in the first few episodes and his son is in trouble with the law.  He then reunites with his mother, who seems to be a big time con artist played by Elizabeth Berkley  Amid this backdrop, Emily Proctor who plays Calleigh Ducaine,  gets kidnapped in a two parter,  Adam Rodriguez, (Eric Denko) continues to deal with his head injury, in which during an episode he imagines a dead CSI star from a couple seasons ago, and Jonathan Togo as Ryan Wolfe is reinstated after struggling to overcome a gambling habit.  This season also marks the departure of one of its stars; Khandi Alexander (Alex Woods), the medical examiner who talks to her dead bodies, says her goodbyes in a late season episode. The ending episode of the season is a classic cliffhanger that is not to be missed.
The six disc set continues its widescreen presentation which includes over saturated colors and introductory shots from around Miami in every episode and commercial break.  The Dolby 5.1 sound is mostly up front but gun play and action scenes make use of the back surrounds.
Extra features include a look at the real CSI:Miami and its women, an analysis of the season with cast and crew, playing dead on the series, and directing the series. Its a fair amount of extra material and it is interesting for fans of the show.
"CSI: Miami" has broken out of its doldrums with a terrific set of shows in Season 6 and this set is highly recommended for fans of the show.

http://www.vcihomevideo.com/ An Italian production from the early 60s stars Richard Harrison and an Italian dubbed cast. The film is more entertaining than most and this is the kind of film that played in drive-ins in the 60s. Gore is minimal and this disc is presented in widescreen. VCI Entertainment has more of these Italian B films in the wings so stay tuned.
