http://paramount.com/homevideo Asteroid hits Earth films were popular a few years back (1998) and this was one of the best of the genre; much better than the more popular "Armegeddon". Starring a pre-hobbit Elijah Wood, teen star Leelee Sobieski, Tia Leoni, along with veterans Robert Duvall, Venessa Redgrave, Morgan Freeman and Maximillian Schell, this special effects extravaganza has a lot of heart as the cast deals with the coming of the "end". This special edition includes an extra disc filled with features about the special effects, and commentary from director Mimi Leder (ER) and Scott Farrar (special effects supervisor). Executive producer was Stephen Spielberg, music by James Horner, and effects by Industrial Light and Magic. A great re-release for Paramount and Dreamworks.
