Review

While the CGI animation (courtesy of Pixar) is typically topnotch, "The Incredibles" marks the first time where the story itself isn't quite up to par with "Toy Story" or "Finding Nemo." Sure, it's funny, even hilarious at times, but we may be entering an era where even the greatest CGI technology Pixar has to offer can't overcome a movie's shortcomings; this film is too long and too short on laughs, compared to other flicks from the Pixar canon. Still, aside from "Shrek 2," this is the best animated film of 2004. Of course, this DVD from Disney features impeccible picture & sound, along with a plethora of fun, family-friendly extras.

Four more episodes from the best show currently being aired during Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. morning line-up. As with most Nick discs, it runs a generous 99 minutes, with a few minor extras the kids should enjoy, like a DVD-ROM game and a music video. This might sound a little like bad parenting, but I can usually tell if a disc intended for toddlers is a good one when it keeps my 2 year old entertained long enough for me to get some work done around the house. Such as this one. From Paramount.
