Review

Vincent Price stars in this low budget Italian production as the sole survivor of a world wide plague that has turned others into zombie-vampires. This black and white film from the early sixties was written by author Richard Matheson. Comparisons to George Romaro's original "Night Of The Living Dead" and later on "The Omega Man" make this film a real cult classic. Memorable scenes include Price going about his daily routine with voice over narration, getting gas for his generator, marking off the calendar, searching and killing vampires with home made stakes from his lathe, and hanging garlic and mirrors on his fortified house before dark. The story tells through flashbacks how if got to be that way and has a dark and depressing ending. A must for horror film fans.
