Review

The title character of this film is a wizard hell bent on taking control of the wizarding world by destroying any other wizards that are on the planet. The only one that stands in his way is a doddering old man and his niece. The movie doesn't get any more complex than this. It instead bumbles along for 90 minutes and weighed down by stilted acting and a script that reads like a piece of Anne Rice fan fiction. The only remarkable thing about this movie is that it features an appearance by Julie Strain in which you don't get to see her without her clothes on. Besides that, it is a movie that should be forwarded directly to the men behind Mystery Science Theater 3000 to be mocked mercilessly.

E.R. The Complete Eighth Season

E.R's eighth season says hello to old friends and goodbye to some characters who have been with the show since its beginning. We say hello once again to Dr. Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) who was a regular in the early seasons of the medical drama. Fans of the show will undoubtably remember season 8 as the goodbye of the chief ER surgeon, Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards), whose dramatic final episode is a tearjerker. Of course, E.R. is known for its contemporary view of medical issues and they keep them interesting in season 8. There is a badly burned man who refuses to see his family, a rapper who won't admit he has HIV, and a plethora of interwoven plots within the staff. All great stuff for this troupe of skilled actors and a treat for the rest of us. Extras consist of mostly outtakes and a gag reel; less then previous seasons but still a great package. Recommended.
