Review

Liz is our current resident teenage critic, who offers her perspective on films aimed at viewers her age. "The Miracle Match" is an amazing movie. I lovde everything about it. I even love soccer and I learned some new moves from this movie. So I think this movie is great. "The Miracle Match" is about a group of American guys who love and play soccer. One day they are invited to try out for the 1950 U.S World Cup Soccer team and they make it. They play team to team and then, the moment they have been waiting for... they play against the best team in the world, the English. They play the best they can and they...... sorry, I can't tell you...you're going to have to find out your self when you watch it. There aren't any extras, but this movie was awesome.

"Garfield Gets Real" is a feature length CGI animated tale in which a bored Garfield decides to spice up his life by transporting himself from the cartoon world to the real world. As nice as it is to see Garfield creator Jim Davis deeply involved in this project, it's a shame the story is as flat as a pancake. You'd think a personal story by Davis about feeling as if Garfield has run out of jokes and steam would be interesting, but unfortunately the movie just goes to show how tired the character has become. While "Garfield Gets Real" is leagues better than the two ulcer-worthy live-action Garfield movies, that still isn't saying much. Don't bother with this one. The movie is presented in a semi-murky 1.78:1 widescreen format with a 5.1 Dolby Surround track. Extras include 3 games (2 on DVD-ROM), bloopers, trailers for "The Fantastic 4: World's Greatest Heroes," "Care Bears: Oopsy Does It," "Firehouse Dog," and Strawberry Shortcake: The Sweet Dreams Movie." The disc also contains 6 featurettes titled: "Pencils, Paws, And Ink: Creating The Garfield Comic Strip," "Jim Davis: Raw And Un-Cat," "The Animation Process," "Legends Working Together," "Finding Your Voice," and "Animating From The Seoul."
