Review

Mission Impossible saw a ot of changes in the 4th season. The most noticeable was the departure of Martin Landau and wife Barbara Bain, who had won a number of Emmys for the show. They left over a salary dispute and ended up doing another series ;Space 1999. So Bruce Landsbury recruited the newly unemployed Leonard Nimoy (he'd been on an NBC show that had just been cancelled-Star Trek) to pick up Landau's role as a master of disguise and illusion. Barbara Bain's role as a woman regular was rotated throughout the season by a number of guest stars, most notably Lee Meriwether, who appeared in half a dozen episodes.

The shows were still the same; Peter Graves was the leader of the IM force along with Greg Morris as Barney, the technical wiz and Peter Lupus as WIlly the strongman. The plots were also taut and well timed as they overthrew evil dictators around the world. Episode highlights from Season 4 include the three part "The Falcon" and the two part "The Controllers". Guests include Pernell Roberts, Harold Gould, John Vernon, Jessica Walter, Noel Harrison, and Dina Merrill.
The picture quality for this 7 disc set is once again remarkable for a show this old; a great transfer which fans will appreciate.
This fourth season was an adjustment season as new cast members and revolving cast members kept the show fresh. The stories wer enever better and guests played some great villians . Plus, Paramount didn't release this in a half season set but an entire season. Please do this with all your great television show sets. Mission Impossible-The Fourth TV Season is a worthy set from Paramount for fans to enjoy.

It's actually sort of amazing "Reno 911!" is now going on five seasons, nearly as long as some of the reality shows it parodies. One would think once the novelty of the concept has worn off, the show's days would have been numbered. Thanks to clever writing and a great ensemble cast, the show may not be as sharp as the first couple of seasons, but there are still a lot of healthy laughs to be found in this fourth season set. And it's a lot funnier than the recent theatrical film version, "Reno 911!: Miami." From Paramount
