Much like “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “My Friends Tigger And Pooh” is another cheap cash-in on the interactive/educational series craze. Again, this is not a bad thing by any means, but I do wish the writers would put more of an effort into creating a better product instead of rehashing ideas from other shows. In this series, Winnie, Tigger, a young child named Darby (and her pet dog Buster) help out friends (Roo, Piglet, Eeyore, and Rabbit) in the Hundred Acre Wood with all sorts of problems. Among the “troubles” in these three episodes are: Darby growing in size, Piglet being scared of thunder and lightning, the gang finding an alleged piece of the moon, Eeyore needing his house fixed, Roo shrinking in size, and Rabbit needing his prized pumpkin protected.

In watching this disc, I had a strong urge to watch “The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh” because those classic cartoons had strong morals and loveable characters without ever having to water the material down to make it accessible. In addition, those cartoons at least had Christopher Robin and lovely, detailed traditional animation. In “My Friends Tigger And Pooh,” the CGI animation is generally flat (the backgrounds are non-existent!) and Christopher Robin is nowhere to be seen. Instead, we get an annoying little girl named Darby. I realize it is necessary to create a new series on beloved characters every now and then, but fans of Tigger and Winnie deserve so much better.

Summary: Even if your children love these characters, I would recommend revisiting the old classics instead. This rushed product is not worth the money.

The fullscreen picture quality is above average. The CGI animation is sharp looking even if it not exactly “good” CGI. The Dolby Digital Stereo track contains clear dialogue and music.

* A full episode of “Handy Manny” containing two adventures called “Halloween” and “Squeeze’s Magic Show.” The ‘Manny’ episode is far better than anything else on this disc.
