Review

If the world of Hello Kitty is a little too glossy and overly cute for you, allow me to introduce Pucca, a kung fu enthusiast who happens to also be ridiculously adorable. This young girl was created by a South Korean and has found a following here in the States thanks to a line of merchandise and this animated series, which can be found as part of the Jetix block of programs on Toon Disney.
The Americanized version of Pucca's adventures makes a lot of arch references to the stereotypical aspects of most anime TV programs but avoids becoming a complete cliche through its fun bright animation design, which uses lots of bold, simple lines and colors over ornate backgrounds. The simple storylines are also much appreciated for the younger set who might not be ready for the full, over-the-top anime experience. It's a series of cartoons that's easy to watch, easy to understand and a whole lot of fun.
