The logline: After robbing a bank, five criminals/strangers arrive at a rendezvous point only to find their leader dead. Who killed the leader? Was someone in the heist responsible for his death? Is a trap being laid for them?

From the opening minutes it’s clear that “Puzzle” is a rip-off of “Reservoir Dogs.” Not only is the plot eerily similar, but writer/director Kim Tae-Kyung even utilizes some of the same plot devices such as the code names, the deserted wherehouse location, the mistrust amongst the criminals, the flashbacks, etc. In fact, not one minute of this film is remotely original in the least. It’s as if Kim just took parts of his favorite crime/heist movies and pieced them together to make “Puzzle.” To be honest, you are much better off watching “Reservoir Dogs” and countless other crime genre films instead as they are infinitely more satisfying and have stronger and more likeable characters to boot.

The widescreen picture quality is surprisingly very clean. I did notice a few spots of grain, but overall it looks good. The subtitled Korean 5.1 audio track is also clear albeit unspectacular.
