Review

This disc contains seven pilot episodes of the goofiest, most endearingly cheesy programs ever to grace Saturday morning TV in the 70s. All of Sid & Marty Krofft's most popular shows are represented ("Land of the Lost", "H.R. Pufnstuff", etc.), as well as some of their more obscure, probably best-forgotten efforts (like "Far Out Space Nuts"). Most of the shows are terminally weird & totally dumb, but there's also quite a bit of imagination behind some of them (probably aided in no small part by narcotics). This moderately priced single disc from Rhino is a better deal than the full season boxed sets of the same shows, and makes a wonderful nostalgia trip for those who grew up with them, though your own kids may wonder what was in your cereal bowl besides Froot Loops.
