The story is very mixed up and trying to explain the plot would be useless but World War III starts in 2005 with a nuclear terrorist attack on two cities in Texas. The war has led to the development of alternative fuels, including one powered by the ocean by a brilliant scientist (Wallace Shawn) . Dwayne Johnson plays Boxer Santaros, who wakes up with amnesia and starts living with Krysta Now(Sarah Michelle Geller), a porn star breaking out into other areas of business. She has her own reality television show, energy drink and is seeking a buyer for her script, which foretells the end of the world. Sean William Scott plays a LA cop who has a double from the spilt space-time continuim, a result of the new energy source. I think that's enough to get you going.

On the surface, this film makes absolutely no sense what so ever, but it also is the kind of film worth watching again. Kelly has produced a striking satire of modern society, making comments about the war in Iraq, and portraying America as sort of a Mad magazine. There is so much going on in this film that it will take a few viewing to understand even some of it.

Those expecting another "Donnie Darko" are in for a big surprise; this is way different. Kelly has thrown in evreything but the kitchen sink in this one and the results show. You will either really like this film or really hate it. If in doubt, rent it first.
