Review

Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones star in this human comedy about a man without a country, stuck in the terminal of JFK airport. Hanks gives a great performance as the almost no English speaking man on a mission. Zeta-Jones plays an airline hostess who befriends him. There are some great supporting role performances by Stanley Tucci, Chi McBride and Diego Luna that make the film memorable. A warm feeling in the tummy comedy directed by Steven Spielberg.

"Mission Impossible-The Third TV Season" was when the show was at its peak. Barbara Bain won an Emmy For her performances in the show, the cast was established, and was well written, despite its predictable formula. New in this season were variations on that predictability; as Cinnamon Carter (Bain) is captured during a mission and is psychologically tortured while the team tries to rescue her. Jim Phelps (Peter Graves) also finally does away with choosing his team members every episode, as we all know who he will choose. The plots are all pretty familiar, as the team tackles third world petty dictators and sly arms dealers, and start to tackle American gangsters in this season. This season's episodes also feature more of the supporting team, with spotlight episodes on Barney (Greg Morris) and Willy (Peter Lupas). So far, this is the best season to own on dvd. The fullframe picture has been cleaned up and colors are bright and sharp. Mission accomplished!
