You gotta give the Disney Channel this much...they know their audience better, and do more to cater to them, than any cable channel on the planet. For most adults, the original sitcom programs which dominate the channel are interchangeable, kind of like heavy metal music...if you aren't a fan, it all sounds the same; only the truly faithful can point out the differences between Slayer & Judas Priest. The same can be said for the channel's made-for-TV & direct-to-video movies, which pretty much play like extended versions of their sitcoms. But this is a kids-only club. In this club, adults are indeed welcome, but not required. That said, this almost-feature-length (running 70 minutes) movie, which combines the casts of three of the channel's most popular programs ('That's So Raven,' 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody' & 'Hanna Montana'), hits the bullseye with an accuracy you'd expect from Disney, making it sort of "Freddy vs. Jason" for the tween crowd. Anyone over 15 will see this as a cynical Hollywood product, but those at whom it's aimed will likely be in hog-heaven, and there are far worse things they could be popping into their DVD players. From Buena Vista.

All I can say is, if director Martin Scorsese (the Susan Lucci of American filmmaking) doesn't win a Best Director Oscar for this one, he never will. With all due respect to his sweeping epics, "Gangs of New York" & "The Aviator", "The Departed" is his best film since "Goodfellas" (which was robbed of almost every award for which it was nominated back in 1990), and is vintage, cutting-edge Scorsese. It's another complex, enthralling and violent story of crime, corruption and deception, this time involving cops and the Irish Mafia. The acting, direction, editing and effective song score, as usual for a Scorsese picture, are all first rate. From Warner Home Video.
Movie Quotes
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. Rutger Hauer Blade Runner
