Review

This Peter Weir film gets the special edition treatment with a lengthy documentary about the film featuring cast member reflections, commentary from director Weir, and the impact the film had on the entertainment industry. After all, this film's ideas gave birth to the reality shows that plague network television today. It was also a significant turning point in Jim Carrey's career, showing he truly could be more than just a funny guy. Another great upgrade dvd from Paramount Home Video.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World (2 Disc)

"The Lost World" two disc set contains both the 1925 B&W silent and the 1960 Irwin Allen versions. While the silent version has a flimsy plot set-up and is dated, racist (blackface character) and goofy, it is the better of the two. Unlike Allen's version (which I will get to soon), this is an engaging adventure tale about a Professor leading a group of people to a mysterious land where dinosaurs roam.
